Trying to decide a 5 digit VIN number on an old 1949

Customer Question

Hi! Trying to decide a 5 digit VIN number on an old 1949 Peterbilt! Everything we found requires 17 digits?
Any ideas where we can find this old information?

Old 5 digit vehicle numbers had no (code) in them , were just consecutive s/n as vehicle came off production line.
