I have a 1965 IHC 1600 with a 345 engine. it starts and idles, but pops and farts when I try to rev it. new carb, new cable drive tac. any thoughts.
JA: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
Customer: it back fires when reved up and dose not pull very good
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: 3 ton 1600 IHC truck
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: like I said, new carb new distributer and plugs and wires
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no thanks

Be sure Valves are adjust to specs
Be sure the Fuel Bowl / Float is adjusted correctly
Be sure there are no Vacuum Leaks anywhere

sounds like the Spark Advance is not working
Can't remember if these are Vacuum or Mechanical Advance on the Distributor
Please post back which......
Pull the Distributor Cap off & check the Advance Plate to see if it moves
