Set engine at TDC # 1 cylinder on the compression cycle. Look for marks on crankshaft pulley or flywheel. Scribe everything and if you put the marks back exactly, that is all the timing that is required for removal and replacement. Scribe the shaft and the gear on the pump drive shaft, and the mounting flange, as most engines today do not have a key to establish the line up! Then do not let engine get moved!
