Customer Question

I may have the wrong web site, I recently purchased a 2006 Hummer. While driving it home the oil alarm came on, had it checked by dealership and they said the oil psi was only 11 and I needed a new engine. Does this seem correct ?
JA: What is the complete model and serial number of your machine?
Customer: I do not have the paperwork ,It is in the vehicle at the dealership, It's a H3
JA: Anything else you want the equipment mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I don't think so.......

This is the gas engine and not diesel? Has the oil and filter been replaced, to see if a thicker oil may be all it needs? Just throwing out an engine because it shows to have 11 lbs oil pressure is a quick read and needs further investigation! Has an oil analysis been run to see if there is metal in the oil?
