JA: What is the complete model and serial number of your machine?

JA: Are you fixing this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes we are. a few days ago we replaced cummins part number(###) ###-####pressure sensor, everything was fine after that, all codes cleared run great. this morning it would periodically derate then run just fine while going down the road
JA: Anything else you want the equipment mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: there was some blue smoke when it would act up

Hi, my name is Doug.

Code 1664 is catalyst missing

Code 2637 is catalyst face plunged.

I would start with the face plugged code.

Fuel and engine oil will face plug the catalyst, but what I've seen sometimes is the flex tube going to the inlet of the DPF from turbo is coming apart and the fabric in the flex pipe is face covering the catalyst. So the flex tube will need to be replaced with the new part number that Cummings has. You can tell when you remove the DPF and split it open the inlet side of the catalyst will have a cloth like coating over it. If it isn't that then you will have to figure out why there is fuel or oil in DPF and catalyst. Its going to be expensive any way you go. The DPF is quite heavy and you need 2 people to lift it out.

The code 1664 is from somebody drilling out the catalyst which is illegal, or could a secondary cause from the other code.
