Aftertreatment 1 Outlet NOx Sensor - Abnormal Rate of Change

This fault code sets when the aftertreatment outlet NOx sensor indicates to the ECM that it is not providing valid data.

sounds like the sensor could be due for a change

Conditions for Clearing the Fault Code

  • To validate the repair, start and operate the engine to raise exhaust temperatures. This can be done by either driving the vehicle or initiating a stationary regeneration using INSITE™ electronic service tool.
  • The SCR outlet temperature at the aftertreatment outlet NOx sensor must be above 200°C [392°F] before the sensor can perform its internal diagnostics.
  • The ECM will turn off the amber CHECK ENGINE
  • the ECM will turn off the MIL after three consecutive trips where the diagnostic runs and passes.

Remember the initial warm up will turn off the cel

you will have to do 3 trips at 4 hours a trip to turn off the mil light

if you have insite you can turn the lights off right away..

Ok So I have changed out the sensor.
Four more codes came up. It seems like they all have to do with NOX sensor or DPF.
SA 0 SPN 3360 FMI 9
SA 0 SPN 641 FMI 11
SA 0 SPN 3226 FMI 9
SA 0 SPN 3216 FMI 9What are your thoughts. Should I try a regen ?

Is there a difference between the inlet and outlet sensor. The sensor Volvo sold me is different from the original in that the cable is about 6" shorter. Do you think could Volvo sold me the wrong sensor?
Could this be the reason for all the new codes?

Interesting
First thing to check is the inlet sensor plug, is it the same as the outlet? On a Volvo is could be, as for the length that is for different configurations of aftertreatment, not a issue as long as it plugs in and the cable isn't to tightThere are 3 different lengths of nox sensor available

Volvo sold me the wrong length.
I'll get the new one Monday either way the one I have now installed fine except for I can't mount it on the plate the original sensor came off of.This morning when I cranked up the truck it only showed three engine codes.

Spn 1568 fmi 31From what I have understood, since I don't have insite to clear the codes.
I will have to the run the truck so that it can regen at least 3 to 4 times correct?
I have tried to do a parked regen m, but the conditions haven't been met.
Also should I be concerned about the engine derate code?

Just installed the correct sensor.
Check engine light is still on, it is currently showing 10 engine codes.

Ok, I turned the truck off and restarted it. All the codes went away except for one.
Spn 3226 fmi 10 the original code.I don't have insite to clear codes or to. do a regen and I can't do a manual regen. It says the conditions haven't been met.
