I have a 1998 International Harvester tandem dump truck. Why

Customer Question

I have a 1998 International Harvester tandem dump truck. Why when I refuel the driver side tank the fuel gets transferred to the passenger side tank?
If I keep putting fuel in the driver's side tank will the passenger side tank overflow?
The fuel check valve in the tank operates so fuel does not get splashed out when fuel sloshing around in the tank...

Hi I'm Wayne

I will help you with this

that is normal, self leveling tanks

no as long as the check valve is working , it will not over flow

To verify this, fill driver side 3/4 full the passenger side should be same or bit higher

I hope this helped you

My driver side tank was over three-quarters full now the passenger side tank is full up to the bottom of the fill neck. At what point is the passenger side fuel tank supposed to stop filling up???
Customer: replied 12 months ago.
I blew through the fuel lines on the passenger side tank and I could hear bubbles coming up on the driver side fuel tank

It stops when equal or bit more

if it keeps filling , it has a faulty balance valve
