On a 416 cat the battery was connected in reverse polarity.

Customer Question

on a 416 cat the battery was connected in reverse polarity. i replaced the rectifer bridge in the alternator, now i dont have power at the bat sied of the ignition switch or to the control side of the start relay. Im can start the engine by jumping hot to the switch and jumping the start relay. So my ignition fuse for wire 105 is good but no power to switch. Is the another fuse inline? also it looks like the control to the start relay comes from the foward/.reverse lever on the dash?

Yes, starting is controlled through the shifter.

Place a jumper wire between the 307 orange wire and the 306 green wire the try starting engine. If it cranks, the circuit is good and the shift is likely the issue.

Also verify shifter control is getting power on the C993 white wire (pin 1) and ground on the 202 black wire. The neutralizer (Trans disconnect) buttons power this control.

See attachment for all pin outs.
