Filter is a suction filter. It has to be vacuum tight. So if the pump does not pickup the oil , filter may be leaking.???
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Do I take the filter off and replace it or can I use the same filter
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
Did you have filter off? Or did you replace it? Spin on,. or cartridge?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes filter was off and replaced with new
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I believe its a spin-on

Could the old filter gasket still be on, letting filter suck air?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the gasket is built in
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
But did the the old gasket come off with old filter, or did it stick and now the new filter is on top of it. If not filter, need to go to the hydraulic pump and stuff it full of grease, so it will make posiitve seal and pickup the fluid.

Did you find the problem?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
yes had to call the local huterites for the solution. Had to run engines rpms as high as it would go, which circulated the fluid and the hydraulics started working
