Hi my name is***** will be glad to try to help.

Fuel pressure below normal

Dirty fuel filter
Fuel inlet restriction
Debris in fuel regulator
Failed fuel pump
Bias circuit/sensor

1. Using EST, open the D_ContinuousMonitor.ssn.

2. Verify sensor voltage is within Key-On Engine-Off (KOEO) specification. See "Performance Specifications" section of this manual.

3. Monitor sensor voltage. Verify an active Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) for the sensor.

If code is inactive, monitor the Parameter Identifier (PID) while wiggling the connector and all wires at suspected location. If the circuit is interrupted, the PID spikes and the DTC goes active.
If DTC is active, proceed to the next step.
4. Disconnect engine harness from sensor.
NOTE: Inspect connectors for damaged pins, corrosion, or loose pins. Repair if necessary.
5. Connect breakout harness to engine harness. Leave sensor disconnected.

High Pressure Fuel System
The high-pressure pump is driven by
the accessory drive housing.
The pump increases the fuel pressure
in the common rail to a maximum of
31,900 psi, or 2,200 bar.
The ECM controlled Fuel Pressure
Regulator valve is mounted on the rear
of the pump and is used to regulate the
rail pressure.
An increase in the duty cycle results
in a lower pressure, while a lower duty
cycle results in a higher pressure.

High Pressure Fuel Lines and
From the common rail, fuel passes
through high-pressure lines to the
injector pipes.
The injector pipes deliver fuel through
drilled passages in the cylinder head to
the injectors.
Both the high-pressure lines and the
injector pipes are one-time use only and
will not seal if reused

Fuel Pressure and Aeration CheckPurpose

Check for correct fuel pressure and fuel aeration.

Plugged supplemental

lters or separatorsmounted on vehicle will in

uence fuel pressure,restriction, and aeration.

Fuel Aeration must be checked using theFuel Pressure Gauge clear hose. Aeration cannot bemeasured using the FDP sensor.

• ZTSE4681 – Fuel Pressure Gauge• ZTSE4925 – Clean Fuel Supply

1. Connect Fuel Pressure Gauge to the fuel test porton the front of the intake manifold.2. Route clear hose into diesel fuel container.

The fuel pump will only run for 10 seconds per switch cycle, and there must be 10 seconds betweenswitch cycles.

The Fuel Delivery Pressure (FDP) sensor is only capable of measuring up to 517 kPa (75 psi)of pressure, even though fuel pressure normally operates at 621 kPa (90 psi).3. Turn ignition switch to ON, engine OFF. Measure fuel pressure with shut-off valve closed. Open shut-off valve momentarily to check for possible aeration.4. Record results on Diagnostics Form.• If fuel pressure is below specification, go to Fuel Filter Check• If fuel is aerated, go to Aeration Check
