I am considering a Grand Banks 46 with marine 3116TAs. I do not want nor need to use the full 350hp, desiring to cruise at 9kt. What were to happen if I were to "de-rate" these engines by removing the aftercoolers? Thanks!

the only thing that would happen it would burn more fuel

and run hotter, plus may burn pistons , valves and crack head
