have 07 Columbia MBE 4000; when turn on switch/guages sweep..oil stays @ ***** ***** (100psi)..voltage stays @ 12...will not start..turns over...a touch of ether..almost y96533...245k mi...not much prior issues

before this issue occured...welded a bracket to front for grill guard..took off both pos/& neg cables of battery 1st tho...all else seems function ok...however...the lights in main guage panel did not wk @ nite before this either...wander if 100 psi of oil guage prevents engine from starting...stays @ 100 or max when switch key on after initial sweep...
