Customer Question

Have a case puma 195 with an iveco engine in it. It has dropped a cylinder and on further inspection the valve clearances on one cylinders exhaust valves is too great, causing the 'bridge' between the two valves to fall out. What may cause excessive clearances? Is this a common fault with iveco engines?

Good morning, sorry for delay, my name is ***** ***** you for asking your question, I will try and help you out.

Here are some common issues

Bent valve, broken valve spring, do a compression/leak down check to confirm, you can also measure valve height and compare to other valves

Cracked rocker lever, worn cam, broken roller/cam follower

Not very common unless engine over revved.
