I work at a heavy truck repair garage. we are working on a n14 select plus.
the problem is the engine will smoke when rpm are around 1200 when warm only. this engine was just overhauled with genuine cummins parts,
new injectors pistons bearings new engine wiring harness new ecm all new sensors including water temp boost sensor ambient air oil temp intake air.
if you rev to 1500 it stops smoking also will not smoke at idle

If you have a laser temp gun see if you can isolate a single cylinder issue or all cylinders by checking exhaust port temps.

Check temp at every two hundred RPM through all rpm ranges, compare all readings.
