Customer Question

Hi, Im having some problems with my 06 t600 with a c15 cat. Motor has around 650k miles never had any major work done to it. My problem is this. It has been leaking out coolant from the the radiator cap and over flow tube once it reaches about 205 degrees. At that point the fan will come on and temp will drop to about 190. Coolant is completely topped off. Why does it do this?

Hi. Thanks for asking your question and requesting me. I will try and help you out.
I have seen several times. What is the engine serial number?
Expert:  Cat Man replied 2 years ago.
There are five things I have seen cause coolant to be pushed from the radiator.
The first is a faulty radiator cap. Which you have already replaced.
Second is a blown head gasket on the engine air compressor.
Third is a crack in the precooler before the air to air cooler.
Fourth is a blown engine head gasket.
And lastly is a cracked cylinder liner.
If it is an air compressor head gasket or engine head gasket or liner, The system will push out coolant all the time. Normally when it's a precooler, it pushes out coolant only under heavy load.
