Have a 2004 international 4200 vt365 I will be driving truck down road the truck puts out a big puff of Black smoke and loses power when smoke quits truck runs fine this does this a lot

This is likely related to a sticky egr valve ! Have you checked codes ? Try using this procedure to pull up the flash codes and let me know what you find :
