Hello. Just rolled 1.1 million miles on my 475 hp acert in an 05 pete 379. I bought it at 570k miles from my dads rigging company in CA. It has been a VERY reliable engine for me. I have several ???s about several options. Rebuild acert? Convert acert over to 6nz single turbo? Pull acert out & drop in a cat rebuilt 2ws i have access to? Any opinions &/or advice welcome

Hi. Thanks for asking your question! I will try and help you out.
I would either rebuild the C15 you have now or go with the 2WS. I have seen folks have difficulty converting to a 6NZ. It's just better to stay with an engines origin dl design.
Personally I would stay with what you have. The twin turbo ACERT is a very reliable problem. You have already gotten a million miles from the engine. I would rebuild and get another million.

The main motivator in the 2ws is i can buy it for $8k on a stand freshly rebuilt by by rep. Cat shop. To rebuild my acert w a platinum kit will run between $15 to $25k & 2 weeks downtime. With the older 2ws enging the savings is substantial. Also, i have a recent interest in experimenting with diesel performance technology such as coated exhaust manifold, quick spool turbo, fass fuel, exhaust, etc. I will keep my acert 475 on a stand for future options. Will i b able to take my serpentine belt drive system off the acert & mount it on the older 2ws engine?

Yes I agree the savings are great. I can totally understand why you would like to go with the 2WS.
Not sure about the serpentine belt assembly will fit. The front covers are slightly different. You may need to make some modifications to make it work.

Since the acert no longer meets CA requirements, its not like im sacrificing current emissions compliance by going to an older engine. The acert gets between 5 to 6.2 mpg depending on load & weather circumstances. The reliability of my acert 475 has been stellar considering everyone warned me not to own one. Because i didnt want ruin optimum factory perameters, i never had hp increased. But 500 to 550 hp would serve me well as i am getting into heavier specialized loads. The acert @ 475 hp never had much pulling power but it also never quit running silky smooth. At 1.1 million to date never even replaced an injector. Always had Johnson, warren or wagner cat clear fault codes & run the overhead @ 40k mile intervals. What about ecm perameters from acert timing to 2ws engine conversion? A $2200 plug & play harness is avail from a paccar oem supplier but do i put my acert sensors on the 2ws engine so they are still compatible w my diagnostics warnings & old technology guages in the 05 pete?

Thanks for the information.
Not sure you need a harness. The sensors on the 2WS and ACERT are different. I would leave the sensors on the 2WS. No need to change them.
