2007 kw w900 c13 cat code 385 fmi 1 will trip only when hot and into a pull than 30 seconds,replaced all actuator solenoids,intake actuator sensor and shut off solenoid,checked check valve looks OK,also tightened rail cover because it was loose.checked leaks pretty good stream coming out of bottom of actuator heads at idle only when hot rear head seems like it has the most pressure,maybe normal ,any ideas

. Thanks your question! I will try and help you out.
The most common thing that causes this is a leaking IVA housing. I have seen this many times. The oil should not be leaking a lot from the bottoms of the Iva's. A little but not a lot.

Thank you very much,one more thing the flow is equal when cold from IVA's is the best way to test is get engine hot pull valve cover and see witch head is leaking the worsted?

So have changed out IVA,and problem still there,code 385 fmi 1 always comes back,I put mechanical gauge where sensor is in rail,and have 55 psi at idle ,if I bring it up to 2200 I can get as much as 100psi seems high compared to lower end pressure where have 25psi at idle hot and can get 50 around 2200 ... any ideas ..

Thanks update.
There only other items that can cause this are:
A faulty IVA pressure sensor.
A faulty end of rail control valve
A faulty system check valve. In all my years o have not ever seen this valve be faulty but it's possible.

I have done the control vave and the check valve as well,I'm thinking I can't have low pressure in rail if its reading high , could it see a big differance between lower and upper pressure to set this code? the last time test drove ,it came up with a boost code, 102 fmi 1

This code is set at start up or under load.
At start up, he ECM powers the valve to open and dump oil three times. It's a self test. If the pressure does not change during this test. The code will be logged. It assumes there's a leak. I would remove the valve cover and see if there is a leak at the valve. You could have a bad housing the valve screws into. It's rare but possible. I have seen it only once.

the code is only under load -30 seconds then its active,I have re sealed top end with all new IVA housings... the voltage at pin 25 and 42 at ecm under load is at 0.87 from sensor witch is approx 35-40 psi acording to chart,I back probed ecm ran wires into cab and was able to read return voltage going to ecm.. still get this 385 fmi 1 code every time its under load...

yes sensor,contol valve,check valve.iva's ,3 o rings at rail and even lower feed o ring under cover....

I thought so just want to be sure.
The only other thing I have seen is a faulty valve cover base that the end of rail valve goes into. I must suspect it since you have replaced all the other items including the IVA's.

Thanks. what would be the best way to check rail cover.... and do u know at what voltage the ecm needs to see from pressure sensor to trigger 385 1 code ?

No problem. I am happy to help. I am sorry you are having this much trouble. I know how aggravating it can be.
When the engine is good an hot, run the engine with the valve cover off and see if there is any oil leaking from around the end of rail valve. It should not be leaking any oil .
Sorry, I do not know the exact voltage is. I know the sensor reading is going up and down rapidly. When this stops, the ECM knows there is a leak because the pressure is not going up and down anymore.

Thanks, ***** ***** pull voltage is pretty still at 0.87-0,90 ,and have checked end of rail at valve and it looks good no oil leaking by valve..

thanks again....question was asking myself as well.. is it possible got a faulty part , may just try another sensor. I also did the sensor test on old one to new one... and at 50 psi reading were different between old and new sensor...

Yeah I hate when it appears all has been replaced and the problem still exist. It makes you feel like you got a bad new part.
