VerifiedHello and welcome to Just Answer! I would be more than happy to assist you today.How did the second turbo fail? These codes are for the turbo actuator that is attached to the turbo. How did the supplier decide the turbo was fine. I'm sure Cummins tested it on the engine with the Cummins program correct? Are they covering the turbo under warranty? Aftermarket companies are not the greatest to get parts from and tough to deal with.
Ok, I did not see any updates. Now these are common failures, A possible cause of this fault code could be a turbocharger internal failure causing the turbocharger actuator to not close fully,Malfunctioned turbocharger position sensor, and mechanical or electrical malfunction, such as a bad ecm or wiring Turbocharger actuator motor assembly malfunction, requiring a high current to operate the turbocharger, such as a stuck or sticking turbocharger. Inspect the turbocharger vanes for residue, and clean the vanes, if required. Find the source of the residue and repair. And that 9122 fault is what i'm wondering about it is for the internal temperature of the VGT actuator exceeds 125°C [257°F] continuously for 30 minutes That is enough to fry the electronics in the actuator check for Blockages found in the variable the internal geometry turbocharger actuator cooling plate or coolant lines,Also check for exhaust leaks blowing on the VGT actuator Go with a Cummins RX turbo if possible, 1 year warranty no hassle.
