Hi Gill, my name is Dan and I work on the construction side for Volvo. Most of the d12 motors have a spin on filter system with the water separator having a removable bowl. It is possible they have an o-ring pinched or out of position allowing air into the system and that will cause the skip. Can you show me a picture of your filter so I can understand the situation better?
