VerifiedHi, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I'd like to help you with this problem. I need to check on a few things first. You have the CAT 3126B motor correct? Do you have access to a computer with CAT ET on it?
I believe that model has the motor I referred to, but it would be good to confirm that. The best way to troubleshoot your problem would be to access the vehicle ECM with CAT Electronic Technician, you would be able to see injection pressures, cam sensor feed, when the intake heater is cycling etc. If you don't have access to CAT ET, you can hook up test gauges, check both fuel pressure from the lift pump (need at least 40 psi) and oil pressure from the HUEI pump (need at least 670 psi). Also check the intake heater element, I believe the resistance will vary by the outside temp but you can pull the intake tube off at the front and observe if it's working. You're fairly limited without having access to CAT ET so if it's not one of the above mentioned items you'll need access to that software to go any farther.
