VerifiedHi there - I deal with PEG tubes a good bit - this shouldn't be dangerous, but I'm not quite sure I completely understand what you're talking about. Do you have a picture I could check out?
By "adaptor," I'm thinking like the plug in the far end of the tube, away from the stomach, where you could attach a syringe to flush or feed?
And most PEG tubes have a clip/clamp sort of thing that can keep the tube shut where it doesn't leak - this is different than the adaptor you're talking about?
