What does this mean on my 4 year old son? Technique: MR
Technique: MR images of the brain were obtained on a 3 T MRI system without intravenous contrast administration. Sequences include sagittal and axial T1 spin echo inversion recovery, axial and coronal T2 TSE, axial and coronal FLAIR with fat saturation, axial susceptibility weighted imaging, axial diffusion weighted imaging.Findings: Midline structures demonstrate normal morphology. The degree of symmetry and the morphology of the gyral and sulcal pattern appear within normal limits. There is moderate to severe bilateral sphenoid sinus mucosal thickening. The mastoid air cells and middle ear cavities remain well aerated. No abnormality is visible in the orbital soft tissues. This study was not optimized for blood vessel evaluation. There is no visible abnormality in the major intracranial arterial flow voids or in the dural venous sinuses or major cerebral veins. The ventricular system has a normal configuration and the ventricular size is within normal limits. The basal cisterns remain fluid filled without effacement. No extra-axial fluid collection. No focal mass effect on the brain or midline shift. There are a few tiny foci of frontal white matter FLAIR hyperintense signal abnormality, entirely nonspecific, of doubtful clinical significance. … read more
