Neuropsychiatrist or neurologist please. Background: My
Background: My husband is a 40 year old dentist. He previously had absolutely no problems at all of this nature. On March 17 we returned from a family vacation in Florida. All of us returned with a fever, a cough and a runny nose. My husband had the worst symptoms and his fever lasted a few days along with a cough and a runny nose. The day before we had eaten at an Italian restaurant in Florida and we all developed a major stomach ache hours after eating there and my seven year old was throwing up. We cannot tell if we all became sick after food poisoning or a cold.My husband continued to feel sick days later but we all got better. On March 19, after laying in bed all day and being unable to go to work, my husband suddenly woke up with a racing heartbeat, clammy hands, dizziness and the feeling that he was going to fall out of his body and ultimately die. He asked me to call 911. This was frightening for all of us as he rarely goes to the doctor and is a very private man. The ambulance came and he was taken to ER. Blood tests were taken and he tested negative for covid. The ER doctors concluded that he may have suffered a panic attack. He was sent home.2 days later my husband again felt the same feeling - racing heartbeat, dizzy, unable to see clearly, unable to drive and the feeling that he was going to die. He went to ER again. They advised him to go and see a cardiologist for his irregular heartbeat. He continued to feel sick for days with a cough and a runny nose. He also spoke of feeling like he was in a dream and when he would look in the mirror it would feel like it was not him. He kept saying that whatever made him sick in Florida had literally gone to his head and was making him feel very uneasy.A week later the problem persisted and my husband decided to go and see his GP. The GP stated that it was likely to be post viral syndrome that has triggered a panic disorder in my husband. My husband explained that he did not feel anxious and he rarely panics. He explained that he felt cognitive decline eg seeing extremely blurry when driving as if he is completely drunk. Again, the GP stated that this was all a result of a panic disorder and prescribed my husband Clonazapam. My husband reluctantly took Clonazapam a few times but as he was not - and is not - convinced that this is simply a panic disorder, he did not feel the need to take Clonazapam on a daily basis. The problem persisted for a month and a half so my husband went to see a neurologist. After talking to my husband for an hour and a half, she concluded that this was post viral syndrome triggering GAD/panic disorder and asked him to come back to her if the problem persists in a month. The problem persisted. The neurologist then ordered an MRI. The MRI showed no abnormalities or tumours or disease.Almost two months since our trip to Florida and my husband continues to have these problems. He has an extremely successful dental practice but unfortunately he has been unable to return to work. He finds it difficult to drive and says he feels like all the buildings are falling on him when he drives. He finds it difficult to work out at the gym - previously he would go for an hour a day; now after 15 minutes he is tired. He is unable to sleep at night - he says his thoughts are racing. His vision is blurry. He says he feels like he is in a dream most of the time. … read more

Second opinion] I just turned 37 I'm a male, 6'6” tall and
I just turned 37 I'm a white male, 6'6” tall and approximately 260 lbs. I have been at home for 4 months due to Covid. I have not had any exercise other than about 1 hour total on the treadmill throughout this time (not good I know) I have bad anxiety and have been depressed so just laying in bed 23 hours a day (also not good) I've been fasting 3 days a week and taking vitamins the entire 4 months. I've lost 70 pounds (was 330 in March). I went to the ER a few weeks ago for a panic attack and had super high blood pressure, it went down some and when I left the ER it was 160/80. I wanted to start going out again, but wanted to make sure I didn't have high blood pressure, so I ordered a blood pressure meter (arm cuff) I sit in a chair a couple minutes before I start test and my pressure ranges from 108/66 to 115/77 when taken one after another (10+ times). So I believe my blood pressure is normal. The problem I have (one of my problems) I thought I'd test to see if the meter was working properly so I went on the treadmill for 15 minutes, when I took pressure again it was 154/94 I assumed that meant it was working. I then went to google and now I'm really scared because it says the bottom number should stay the same or go down after exercise. I see there are all kinds of issues that causes this. I'm hoping maybe it's due to so much laying down and doing nothing for so long? Or the fasting or vitamins or maybe anxiety playing a roll. Since I've been laying so much for 4 months I've also noticed my heart beats fast much quicker that it usually does in regular life when I was active. (Like from bed to kitchen and back my heart beats fast) I'm assuming it's from not moving much in so long. I'm just looking for some advice google scared me. … read more
