I had surgery on my foot Friday morning. It hasn't been 24hrs and it's hurting really bad. I was given Demerol for pain but the pain is still about an 8 out of 10. It feels as if the bandage was on too tight because it throbs and burns at the same time. I removed the surgical shoe and it provides a little relief but not much. I removed the bandages and it provided a bit of relief. I rewrapped it pretty loose but now the pain is coming back even stronger. What is the purpose of the bandages? Is it to keep the wound from exposure or to keep the area from swelling?

My grandfather is having really painful wounds on his legs due to poor circulation in his legs. He had the same thing happen 2 years ago and he was treated with unaboot. It took a very long time as nurses were experimenting with different things and it got a lot worse before it got better with unaboot. It took about 6 months. He started to wear pressure stockings. Now, about 3 months ago it started again and then again nurses were experimenting with different wrappings. Now you can see what it looks like in the pics what started out as a tiny little wound. We just keep doing the unaboot per Dr and vascular specialist instructions, but it's not getting better at all. He is always wearing unaboot including night time. It is really painful. He can barely walk. Do u have any recommendations on how to expedite the healing process?

Nothing has showed in an mri or xray except moderate arthritis due to age.
