Hi, i want to check for skin cancer symptoms. i had a sun spot on the top of my left cheekbone and several weeks ago it became irritated, flaky and itchy. the skin started peeling off and the area where the sunspot grew in redness and diameter now i have two more similar patches on my left chin bone and one on my ear lobe ive been putting aloe on it because it gets itchy but i feel increasingly concerned please help

Im not sure if it is skin cancer, i want to get it confirmed. and i havent used any medication

I started seeing the symptoms during the quarantine so i haven’t been able to see a dermatologist

theyre very itchy.. and ive never had this before; only recently. ive had the sun spot on my upper cheek for a few years but it hs never been irritated and itchy like this before & i wear sunscreen daily

are they all flaky on the surface? on the photo they don't look flaky.

every few days they get flaky and start to peel off. right now i put some aloe on it because of the irritation so its not flaky, just very rough in texture

got it. it looks like seborrheic dermatitis. Doesn't look like any type of cancer or malignancy in these photos.

thank you! thats a relief. can you tell me what seborrheic dermatitis is? and how can i treat is because it often stingsshould i expect more patches to appear on my face/body,

You are welcome. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin disease that causes an itchy rash with flaky scales. It causes redness on light skin and light patches on darker skin. Experts don't know what exactly causes seborrheic dermatitis. but stress can make it worse. patients can have recurrence (come and go). it can get better using a hydrocortisone (over the counter) cream

would you recommend that i see a dermatologist in person to get it checked still?is there any brand of hydrocortisone that you would recommend

In my patients I usually have them try an over-the-counter Hydrocortisone 1% cream twice daily for a few weeks. if they do not get better then I recommend they see a dermatologist.
