I am a board certified, US trained physician with about 20 years of experience in internal medicine.
Unlikely the medication caused the rash.
Medications take about 30 minutes to be absorbed into the system.
Red patches on hands and arms could be contact dermatitis as it is not in other areas of the body.
Usually when you have allergic reactions to meds, it is more diffuse, does not really stay on one area of the body.
