Well, To be honest, and after seeing X-ray pictures, it doesn't sound like a fracture.

Though there can be a hairline fracture, which has caused such symptoms.

As you have sharp pain, with movements, So to decrease swelling and pain, keep the foot raised above the level of the heart.

 

Your doctor may only need to tape the injured toe to the one next to it for support. This treatment is called buddy taping.
