I have had a few health issues over the past few months.I have had a few health issues over the past few months. Numbness/pins needles right arm, debilitating headaches, soreness in hip. Had brain MRI, MRA, EKG,several rounds bloodwork-all normal results. Neurologist thought long hall Covid. Last week I started getting bad aches down my right leg. I also started with little muscle twitches all over my body- sometimes right leg (thigh, calf), sometimes my back, left leg, shoulder, stomach. I do not have muscle weakness yet. I can weight bear and my muscles don't look sunken in. Could this be ALS? I had EMG of my right arm in March due to pins and needles and that came back good. But I had no twitching or muscle spasms at that time. I am a nervous wreck with anxiety over this and all of the random health issues I have been experiencing with all tests thus far coming back good. I am in my early 40s. But the muscle twitches - mostly occurring at rest- are making me anxious. They jump around -sometimes in the leg that that is bothering me but other times in different parts of my body. Does ALS twitching start more localized? Does weakness usually happen first? Should I be panicking over this? I don't see a cramp happening - no leg stiffness or muscle stiffness that I am aware of. Just feels like an achy feeling sometimes making it uncomfortable to sleep. I also have some hip discomfort in my joint from time to time. I do have an appointment scheduled with an orthopedic doctor. Just worried with panic over possible ALS due to the random twitches that started happening. Sometimes it is just one small "jump or thump" feeling in an area of my body. Other times it is a few quick ones. Like I said mostly when I am at rest. I have not exercised to be causing this but have been worried a lot lately about all of these random health issues with no true "answers." Not sure if this anxiety can lead to the cramps in my leg or the twitching that is happening? Would I have weakness already with this if ALS? Thank you for your input. … read more
