Customer Question

Hi I’m originally from England but have come on a family trip out to Mexico since Thursday. I have a 9 month old with me who’s vaccinations are all upto date. She’s been find out here but not been eating much however over today I have noticed her hands, feet and head have turned rather warm. Please could you suggest the reason / cause? Thank you.
JA: The Doctor can help. Just a couple quick questions before I transfer you. Have you discussed the vaccinations with a doctor?
Customer: Yes, they are all upto date.
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this?
Customer: No as we have only been here since Thursday and symptoms only started around 6/7 hours ago
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the Doctor should know?
Customer: I gave calpol and now just some neurofen.

Warm perpehries are because of fever , most likely he got some viral illness.

This will gi away as most of the viral infections are self limitied.

You just need to keep him fever free with 4-6 hourly Calpol drops.

Small regular liquid feeding.

And look for any cough, nasal congestion if it occurs than you can add Syp Benadryl 10 drops twice a day.

He will be ok.

Thank you.

Let me know if you have further quires.

Regards.

How do these infections occur? I’m scared as I’m abroad therefore my resources are quite limited. I want to keep her as safe as I possibly can from all types of infections. Please advice best way possible. Thank you.

Hopefully this will go away.

Relax as I mentioned earlier.

Okay. Thank you. You have put my mind to rest. Is the best thing to do just keep her cool and light clothing?
Expert:  Dr Fakhra Noureen replied 9 days ago.

Just keep her hand and feet open, clothing should be neither light not warm.

Liquid diet and regular 6 hourly Calpol drops.

Good luck.
