I was diagnosed almost 10 years ago with Panhypopituitarism. I also had an addiction to Vicodin for a couple years prior to that. Haven’t ever gotten a straight answer as to why my pituitary quit working, no tumor. Could it have been the opioid addiction that did it?

Usually it is autoimmune

so your immune system attacks your own body

In your case, it chose the pituitary

I don't think the opioid addiction would have been related

is this helpful?

Thank you to the Physician who answered my question today. The answer was far more informative than what I got from the Physicians I saw in person for my problem.

You have been more help than you know. I seriously don't know what my sisters situation would be today if you had not gone above and beyond just answering my questions.
