Hi,

Welcome to JA and thanks for this question. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Actually, if you were on 50 mg of metoprolol already then taking double the dose would not cause a significant drop in the BP HOWEVER you should continue to monitor yourself for the following symptoms,

Dizziness

lightheadedness

Sweating

Shortness of breath

Blurring of vision

Drowsiness

Chest pain

Numbness or weakness in the limbs

BP of less than 90/60

If these symptoms develop over the next 6-8 hours then you should immediately head to the ER. But in most cases using a dose of 100 mg would not cause any serious issues, you should drink more plain water and Gatorade over the next couple of hours which will help in maintaining your BP.

Do you have any more questions?
