Customer Question
I just received Metoprolol...

I just received Metoprolol Tartrate tabs to be taken in the event of a rapid heart rate. The info. that came with the script states it's for a slow heart. Which is it?

Doctor's Assistant: Do you know if your family has a history of heart disease? In general, how would you describe your health lately?

I have an arythmia which from time to increases my heart rate. As I travel a lot and sometimes a good distance away from med services I was hoping this would help my heart rate instead a visit to the hospital.

Doctor's Assistant: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?

I told him I take 5mg of Eliquis twice a day and 360mg of Cardizen caps once a day. other wise I'm in good health

The metoprolol is a beta blocker used to lower the heart rate if there's a rapid rate arrhythmia going on

So the script should have said taken as needed for a rapid heart rate

Please let me know if you need any more information

Thank you to the Physician who answered my question today. The answer was far more informative than what I got from the Physicians I saw in person for my problem.

You have been more help than you know. I seriously don't know what my sisters situation would be today if you had not gone above and beyond just answering my questions.
