Hello and thank you for your question. My name is***** am a board-certified physician with over 15 years of clinical experience and I am happy to help you. The BUN (blood urea nitrogen) and creatinine are general measures of kidney function. BUN comes primarily from protein in your diet and creatinine primarily from the muscle content of your body. I see you have diabetes. Have you had any issues with your diabetes damaging your kidneys that you know of? Any protein in your urine? In order to best answer your question, can you also tell please the following: Do you also have any heart disease? Are you male or female? And can you tell me your height and weight? Thank you in advance for all the information which allows me to give you a thorough answer to your question.
