Customer Question
I am wondering what is...
I am wondering what is going on. I have been sick the last two and a half weeks. I am on a gluten and dairy free diet. The doctor thought I maybe had Irritable Bowel Syndrome and suggested cutting out dairy of my diet. I did some probiotics and taken Imodium. I am finding no relief in anything I have tried. I eat a meal and within 15-20 minutes I have a bowel movement and it’s always diarrhea. I have started to become very nauseous and have experienced some dizziness.

I have not.
Doctor: Dr. Phil, MD, Medical Doctor replied 8 months ago

that would be the next step

You need a colonoscopy for sure

It could be ulcerative colitis, crohn's or microscopic colitis

is this helpful?

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad

My grandfather did have Crohn’s. Are any of these conditions life threatening? Do you think it could be anything else?
Doctor: Dr. Phil, MD, Medical Doctor replied 8 months ago

They are certainly serious diseases but not life threatening

yes it could be an infection like c diff

if a stool culture wasn't done it should be

For all these diseases, is it common to not have an appetite? Do you think I have IBS or do you think it’s something more than that? I have pain constantly and I’m starting to wake up from the pain.
Doctor: Dr. Phil, MD, Medical Doctor replied 8 months ago

Yes, it is common. Many people can still eat.

IBS can be severe so it could be IBS. However, that is a diagnosis of exclusion

meaning you have to rule out other things

and a colonoscopy is the only way to do that

Okay. I have an appointment with a GI doctor next week but I am very nervous. I am worried something is very wrong and I wanted some answers before. I feel miserable and don’t like eating when I get sick all the time.
Customer reply replied 8 months ago
I also have been experiencing chest discomfort and not sure if it is related or not.
