Is there a medical procedure that can cure or ameliorate vertigo? I have had chronic vertigo for six years, aggravated by epilepsy medication, and my sense of balance is poor after standing from a sitting posture for several seconds. I also have poor depth perception and take it easy on unfamiliar surfaces. I don't recognize changes in elevation in front of me.

Patience, and prayer. The condition is slowly healing over the years, but at 61, it seems to me I might never be over it. I use vitamin supplements and have a healthy diet-no alcohol, coffee, mostly vegetables and a little fish. I also do exercises on a mat on the floor every morning, and eye exercises where I focus my vision on the foreground and then the background. while holding up two fingers in front of my field of view.

Have you tried medications?

Ask Your Own Medical Question

Antihistamines (meclizine, dimenhydrinate, diphenhydramine) are most commonly used.

I hope this helps!

Can vertigo be reducedby surgery, and not more drugs? I already have a surgically implanted implant that helps reduce the frequency of my epileptic seizures. I hope there might be surgery for my vertigo.
there are a couple different surgeries that can help. Do you know which type of vertigo you have? Have you had an mri?

I don't know the results but can learn from my neurologist. What questions should I ask?
You should ask your neurology “for my type of vertigo, is there a surgical procedure? Can you refer me to an ENT doctor who specializes in these surgeries?”
