I was diagnosed yesterday with shingles on the C6 nerve. The nurse Practitioner prescribed Gabapentin 100 mg. Also Valtrex. THe Gabapentin 100 mg was prescribed to take 1 at night. I was thinking this is a low dosage?
JA: What medications do you take daily? Are you allergic to any medications?
Customer: Not allergic to anything. I take Prozac only.

Yes that is a very low dosage for gabapentin when used for shingles pain

Usually the dosage starts with one 300 mg tablet the first day, one tablet twice a day the second day, and then one tablet three times a day on the third day and continuing with that
