I was prescribed a medrol dose pack to help get me through

Customer Question

I was prescribed a medrol dose pack to help get me through two weeks of army physical training with both a pec strain and pain in my knee from an inflammed IT band. Is there a way I can stretch out the six day dose to last longer?
JA: What seems to make the symptoms worse or better? Have you noticed any swelling?
Customer: No swelling, physical therapy has helped but I leave in two days and still have pain.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: No, I've been on a medrol pack before and it worked wonders. I just recall that the pain returns when the doses are completed.

What dose do you have?

Have you tried nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
minimal to no effect. The medrol dose pack has worked wonders in the past.

What is the dose you have?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I believe it is 4mg
6 day one, 5 day 2, etc.
Expert:  Dr. Scott replied 1 month ago.

You can try to take one or two tablets a day instead of the 6 a day then 5 a day etc.

So take 2 tablets for much longer.

Does that make sense?

I hope this helps!
