Hello - I am searching for an answer to my problem - severe sudden onset nausea, followed by hot flush and fainting - since falling the first time this happened i have sat down to avoid the fainting but still feel very sick and lightheaded, along with the hot flush.
JA: What are all the symptoms you're experiencing (e.g. loss of appetite, fever, rash)?
Customer: severe nausea - occasional vomiting and hot flush all over and dizziness
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: i'm 58 - take oroxine for a slow thyroid - mobic for arthritis, a mild antidepressant, and herbal hormone tablet daily

Hello, this is Dr. David. I am reviewing your question now and will be with you momentarily.

when did this episode happen

viral infection, dehydation, low blood pressure, low blood sugar levels, hot flash from low estrogen levels after menopause could be causing some of your symptoms.

have you felt better since the event?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
it's happened four times now - two of them as severe as the first time although i didn't faint as i sat down and put my head down. husband took my blood pressure this am after it happened and it was lowish - 108/86 - no virus....am well normally apart from the arthritis. living in italy atm - so not easy to explain to an italian speaking Dr...

can i expect this conversation to continue?

how old are you?

could be low blood sugar or low blood pressure

hot flash can be due to being after menopauase

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
i'm 58 - yes had thought menopause - but could the symptoms be as severe - the nausea, fainting etc?

some women have worse menopause symptoms than others.

if you are not eating regularly, this can cause low blood sugar levels.

not drinking enough fluids can cause dehydration and low blood pressure

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
always drink plenty - water only - and eat healthy?

that is good.

you may want to see your doctor to get more blood tests

check for thyroid hormone levels

you may need EKG to check heart rhythms.
