It is not red or bluish, not warm or tender. It is really swollen around his whole foot and ankle. He has been walking around on it no pain or itching. No injury to the foot. Had shoulder surgery 6 weeks ago. No diabetes. Takes Lisenpril for blood pressure.

I waiting for a response, I do not want a call

Please allow me just few minutes.
I’ll reply you back soon.
Thanks for your cooperation and patience.

Sorry for late reply and inconvenience.

Thanks for all these additional information.

I understand your concern.

Well as you describe,he has no other symptoms so chances of DVT are less likely.

However sudden increase swelling on foot and ankle indicate other possible causes like Lymphatic obstruction,Cellulitis.

You shouldn't ignore his symptoms and I strongly recommend to see him to doctor ASAP.

Elevate his leg.

Also apply cool compresses on affected area.

His blood pressure should be monitored.

what is cellulitis?

Cellulitis - a diffuse inflammation of the soft tissues. This is more serious than a simple infection.

Cellulitis can cause damage to the lymphatic circulation of the affected area and cause chronic swelling.

Hope this helps.
