Hi I've been getting a really strong ammonia scent from my urine and frequency at which I urinate has increased . What could be the reason and how do I stop it .

Well, Ammonia smell of urine can be due to these causes-

bacterial infection in the urinary tract UTI, Dehydration, Consumption of red meat or high protein foods.

Sometimes use of - certain vitamin and supplements or from imbalances in your diet can also cause foul odor of urine.

Coffee, alcohol, and smoking should be avoided. Take showers instead of tub baths

Most likely in your case, this is due to bacterial infection of bladder.

You need to undergo- Urine test, complete blood count.

Accordingly antibiotics will be prescribed to you.

You should drink cranberry juice.
