What causes dark almost black stools, I am a kidney

Customer Question

what causes dark brown almost black stools
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: I am a kidney transplant patient and also have IBS
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: I just recently developed high blood pressure after my second TIA
JA: When was last time you had a check up? Is there a history of high blood pressure in your family?
Customer: No immediate family history but aunts and uncles had high blood pressure. I also had very low blood pressure until the kidney problem. After the transplant, blood pressure was normal. I have check ups by primary care and nephrologist every 4 months.
