Customer Question

I had a dizzie spell where I was exercising on the floor and when I went to get up, I felt dizzy and my friend helped me up. She gave me lots of water and candy thinking it was either my sugar or dehydration. I am still having that feeling off and on. I now have had a cold for over a week and the dizzy spell lasted a week. Can you help me out
JA: Do you have a fever? Do you have any other existing medical conditions?
Customer: No. I don't have any other symptons. My doctor said that it sounded like Vertigo. He gave me an EKG and took blood to see if my electrolytes were off but they were not.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: I take blood pressure medicine. I hold my head to the side and this has been said could cause a problem based on my reading.

Hello, this is Dr. David. I am reviewing your question now and will be with you momentarily.

sorry you are having dizzy spells

often times with viral infections and colds, you can have fluid in your inner ear or viral infection of your inner ear called labarynthitis which can cause dizzy spells.

this can get better on its own

how old are you?

vertigo medications like meclizine, antivert, dramamine can help many with dizzy spells.

60 sorry

it doesn't sound like you have tried any vertigo medications like meclizine or dramamine

you should see a doctor to look in your ears to check for infection.

No! Basically letting it wear off. I went to the doctor and he looked in my ears. He didn't seem to think I had a problem. My cold started about 6 or 7 days after the dizziness eased up!
