Customer Question

I am a female age 68. My mom had leukemia. My fist cousin on my mom's side had leukemia. An uncle had a blood disorder but I don't recall the name. I have an elevated Hematocrit of 47.5. It seems that it keeps increasing as I get older. Should I be concerned and see a Hematologist? I drink 8 glasses of pure water a day.
JA: In general, how has your health been lately?
Customer: Good. I am recovering breast cancer patient. Weight is normal and I walk on average 4,000 steps a day

sorry about your mother and your counsins

elevated hematocrit of 47.5 could be 100% normal for you

you need more testing for your serum iron and ferritin stored iron levels to see if they are normal.

most likely they are normal.

slightly elevated hematocrit is not a sign of leukemia to come.
