Customer Question

I am experienceing an intermittent fever and sinus drainage. I am looking for advice.
JA: How long have you had a fever? Do you have any respiratory symptoms?
Customer: Off and on since Monday. No respiratory problems other than the drainage. I was tested for the flu and strep at a walk-in clinic yesterday. Both were negative.
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: No ma'am

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Viral infection is more likely. There are other viruses beside flu. You can give 5 more days to see any improvement. Viral infection does improve over time by itself. OTC sedated tablet and Ibuprofen together may help with the sinus congestion and aches.
If your symptoms do not improve in a week, then you should see your doctor for a possible bacterial sinus infection. antibiotic course should be considered in that case.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.

I have also experienced night sweats.
Expert:  Dr Basu replied 11 months ago.

That is due to the viral infection as well. Ibuprofen should help with Sudafed tablets

OK awesome. Thanks for being so reassuring. I know I am probably blowing this up, but when you're NEVER sick, anything feels like death. Thanks!
