The acidosis in this situation is likely to be metabolic, and related to the underlying problems that she has.

Treating the underlying condition is the right way to reduce the acidosis,

Ventilation settings can be changed to help with this, and sometimes (rarely) Bicarbonate can be infused as well, but treating the underlying disease is the way forward,

All the best, ***** ***** critical, and my best wishes are with you and her,

Warm regards

Thank you to the Physician who answered my question today. The answer was far more informative than what I got from the Physicians I saw in person for my problem.

You have been more help than you know. I seriously don't know what my sisters situation would be today if you had not gone above and beyond just answering my questions.
