Customer Question

I fractured my middle knuckle and tore the tendon on my right index finger about a month ago I had to work through the pain and recently put a splint on it now that I'm off work . Should I keep the splint on or does it matter incentive I waited so long to see a Dr about it?
JA: How long have you had the pain? What seems to make the pain better or worse?
Customer: It's hurt from day one but I couldn't work with the splint. I was told to get one now so the tendon doesn't shorten but the pain has gotten worse with the splint but when I take it off now it hurts even more
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: No

you should see a hand surgeon, or an othropedic doctor about your finger.

you need hand xrays and finger xrays to check for bone fracture.

if you have a fracture still, you may need a splint.

if you don't have a bone fracture, you may need physical therapy and stretching to stretch scar tissue from the injury.
