After a round of Amoxicillian, I started to deal with pins

Customer Question

After a round of Amoxicillian, I started to deal with pins and needles all over my body. I also have been dealing with a painful lump on the lower right part of my abdomen, lower than the belly button. Also some pulsating on the lower right side with some gurgling sounds. My doctor gave me Librax to see if that calmed it down. He told me to talk some Xanax for pins and needles but that isn't resolving them. I don't have them every day but some days they are bad all over body Have not been having a bowel movement every day but I did start a Medifast diet. Constipated also.

Sounds like you may have neuropathy

I would suggest seeing a neurologist- there maybe some other potential causes he can explore, which if found may help- including certain infections, toxins, diabetes, or other blood abnormalities.

Better treatments for neuropathy would be a pill called Lyrica or Neurontin

Good luck and please let me know if you have other questions

I do have Diabetes 2. My A1C's have been really good . Can neuropathy come on that quickly? And come and go. What would a tender lumps upon touch on my lower abdomen and pulsating indicate. I did have a complete hysterectomy 6 years ago and wondered if it was a hernia or obstruction. Thanks for the answer.

My Doctor did a nerve conduction study and I'm waiting for results. CBC looked normal from my observation. After the antibiotics for a root canal I had bad burning in my abdomen and pins and needkes started. Dentist told me to stop.

The nerve conduction will confirm if it is neuropathy and what type of neuropathy

This could be diabetic- and treatment with neurontin or Lyrica may help.

Lumps on your belly may well be a separate issue- and should be investigated- likely first with a CT scan to see what they are

This is not likely related to your antibiotic and any connection is likely a coincidence
