in all of his reports, his doctors are saying he has gastroparesis or problems with his stomach emptying properly.

this can cause him to not absorb iron and cause low hemoglobin levels

he needs his iron levels checked including ferritin levels, serum iron levels, total iron binding capcity and % iron saturation.

I bet his iron levels are low. he may need IV iron infusions to help bring up his iron levels if his stomach can't absorb iron.

for gastroparesis, this is a difficult condition to treat. medications like Reglan (metoclopramide) can help some patients.

other patients need an implanted gastric simulator to help the stomach move food into the small bowel.

he may have to travel to another country to find surgeons who can do that surgery.
