I have a fatty lump on my butt... It has been there for about a month or so.. I thought it drained some and it has come back... Now the area near it is red.

It is warm to the touch, and tender if I touch it with some force, but not painful on it's own.No itching.Have not tried medications - haven't gone to the dr for it yet.And I don't have much of a medical history - nothing really.Thanks :)

I understand your concern.

Well as you describe and picture suggests sebaceous cyst/abscess formation.

Clean the area with betadine solution.

You should apply OTC 1% hydrocortisone cream mixed with bacitracin ointment.

Also use abzorb powder after bath.

You should take OTC Claritin and Motrin for 5-7 days.

If your symptoms'll not improve or pus discharge from it then see your doctor for a clinical examination for further evaluation and management.

Antibiotics and steroids can be prescribed.

Eat fibre rich diet and hydrate yourself with plenty of fluids to prevent constipation.

Avoid sitting for prolonged hours.
